Springing into Easter

John is measuring out the amount of water for dying his egg. I wish sometimes the man would be a little more exact about things.
Grandpa made an egg worth punting... (in case you can't make it out) he made it a football.

Johnny and A'leese are being models for the eggs below...

The egg in the middle being licked looks a lot more upset than A'leese does.

Here are my girls... Natalie, K'Lee, and A'leese. You know when you talk about coloring eggs it doesn't sound that exciting but when you look at the pictures you are glad you do it. It is another amazing way to celebrate being together as a family. I love holidays for this reason and coloring eggs is fun.

Of course mom is showing us how to do it with her super rolling powers.

Here is a picture of K'Lee holding a baby chick. Can't tell she is loving every moment of it can you? Happy Easter everyone.

Earth day 2011

It was earth day so "Brother Nice" (Demar Kern) and I decided we had better hug it.
Doris and I got down right lovable with the earth! I LOVE DORIS AND DEMAR they are two of my favorite people.

Of course, the earth got all of this love because K'Lee reminded us with a poster, that we needed to remember to give the earth a hug. She made this poster and placed it on the corner so everyone remember. What a sweetheart!

Saying goodbye to James...for two years.

We all came to wish James luck...

We assembled in many groups....
Some of us hung out in the kitchen...but all of us hung out with each other. We couldn't be prouder of James!

Each and everyone of us was there to celebrate James and his calling to Guatemala....Spanish speaking of course.
He will be an awesome missionary!!! We love you Elder Keyes!

Happy 15th Birthday Natalie!

Natalie turned 15 and we were all excited. K'Lee made Natalie Bug a pillow case for her birthday.
Ryan gave here a vinyl to put on her mirror...if it ever gets done.

Of course we all sang "Happy Birthday" and ate pie. Cake is yucky!

Elvis has left the building...

Doris Kern and Elvis.
Elvis loved to be with people....

But he LOVED John best!

Elvis found his way out of the house one evening while we were cooking dinner. We searched and searched for him and yet never found him. We will remember the love and "pretty bird" he gave each of us. We will miss you Elvis!

Winter flowers

There is absolutely nothing better than a gorgeous bouquet of flowers in the middle of winter. This is a dozen roses John got me for Valentines day.
This is my Christmas cactus. This picture was taken on the same day as the one of the roses, cool huh? I love my Christmas cactus! Flowers in the dead of winter make your heart
smile!

EMPOWERMENT!

When A'leese left as abruptly as she did it was crushing! That's when I made a resolution to become strong.... to help my family be strong. I decided I needed to work on all areas of personal strength; spiritual, mental (knowledge), physical, and of course emotional. As soon as I made these goals our loving Heavenly Father sent the missionaries to our home. This is Elder Hanes teaching Johnny how to do a "Tim-Tam Slam".
Here is Elder Taylor on the guitar with Elder Hanes and Johnny in the background. We have enjoyed having them in our home. I publicly thank Heavenly Father for knowing our hearts and supplying answers to prayers. Thank you Elders for hearing the sweet whisperings of the spirit. You will always have a special place in our hearts... you brought the spirit to our home at the right time, YOU ROCK!
