Natalie and her Grandparents

Natalie took the opportunity to interview Grandpa Stokes the other day. She had a assignment in school where she was to interview a veteran so of course, she chose Grandpa. During the interview I had one of those A-ha moments. You know the kind when someone says something you had never thought of before and it amazes you. Natalie asked Grandpa about boot camp and how he felt about it. His response was it was, " GREAT, people treated you like a person". Wow, I am glad Grandpa made it through his childhood, even though it was tough, so he could be a kid with us when we were growing up! Thanks DAD!
When I look at this picture I think of two very overwhelming things how beautiful the poppies are and how gratiful I am for such a fantastic mom and daughter! Grandma is so much fun... the kids can't get enough of her. Truthfully, I don't think any of us can. She make nature and everything about it the miracle it should be. Anyone who can breath wonder into a rock is an amazing person~ Grandma you are Great~

So as the first part of thier date A'leese and James got to splatter paint t-shirts.
MORP's theme this year was "Let's glow dancing". The whole dance was set up like a rave. This is how thier shirts turned out.

They had a blast doing them... after they left to go eat Natallie and I sat and blow dried them for a half of an hour.

When they came back from dinner they were ready to "Glow" Dancing!!! The night was a hit!

P.S. These two had to model thier shirts in front of the fridge cause well everything was silly that night.

APRIL WHERE ARE YOU ??

Last night I looked outside and we had a major snow storm going on.
Earlier in the day K'Lee was having a picnic.... can you tell it wasn't your average 60 degree day?
This morning I woke up to 5 inches of fresh snow. The mountains got 2-3 feet. I am grateful for the snow but I really want it to be APRIL!!! Flowers popping up, lawns starting to green around the edges, and buds springing up on the trees. APRIL where are you?

Breaking Bread and Eggs

Easter weekend turned out a whole lot better than I imagined. Mom and Dad came over and we created masterpieces.
Everyone took the time to really make an egg extra spectacular.

Natalie always has attitude that is contagious...what would we do without her smile? Or tongue?

Almost everyone had an accident with an egg. John was no exception. He dropped his from a standing position.

After we colored eggs we made

a fantastic Easter Dinner.

Ham, yummy potatoes,

fresh asparagus, and "Vonda rolls".

For dessert we had razzleberry pie

and vanilla ice cream. Talk

about a meal fit for a king.

Of course, we are doing it in remembrance of OUR KING.

The Spiral Jetty

It was one of the most beautiful days so far this year...and Shelly and I set out to do some wood hunting. Not to long after we set out we decided to look for the Spiral Jetty instead. (can you tell I'm taking the picture of us?)

We went through fire.....
and brimstone to achieve our goal. Of course, if you know Shelly and me that wouldn't surprise you.
We took a wrong turn... or actually we didn't take the right lane in the fork in the road so we had to turn around and go back... at least there was a sign telling us to do so.

Going out west is so cool. He I am with a pile of cement, in the middle of no where.

What a fantastic group of kids. These are the only ones I could catch. There was six couples in the group... Johnny said they had a BLAST!!!

Happy Birthday Natalie

Natalie's birthday was a special weekend. She opened presents on Friday night with her friends and on Sunday morning before we headed off to Paul's homecoming. Here she got the CTR ring she wanted.
This is a picture taken at her party. They were all decorating cookies for their treat.

They seem to enjoy being creative.

Ryan and Kelly took first place. John and I each selected one cookie to

receive the coveted award.

During the bigger and better part of the game team two brought back

National Geographic magazines.

Team one brought back golf clubs. I think Johnny was hit over the

head with one when I wasn't looking.

Then we played the candy bar game, spoons, and I've never. Lets just say they laughed a lot!!!

I sure hope Natalie had a wonderful birthday....she sure does light up my life. I don't think my drab life would be quite as spectacular without the breath of cheer Natalie breaths into it!
